Conference Center Venue
We're holding the main part of the conference at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Cleveland. Rooms are $105 per night ($122.08 with tax) for a room with one king or two queen beds, valid from 15-18 September. Not only are the rooms great, but the hotel also has a fantastic fitness center, a pool and hot tub, and lovely meeting spaces. What's better, these are the absolute friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered.
(I counted no less than seven of the Garden Inn's highest award for customer service on display in the lobby. I worked for many years at a Hilton-owned brand hotel, and know that's a wonderfully unusual number.)
Call the hotel directly at 216-658-6400 and be sure to mention that you are part of the Affirmation Conference. Reservations must be made by Thursday 25 August to lock in this special rate. If you have any issues, contact me and your reservation will be sorted out.

TRANSIT FROM THE AIRPORT TO HOTEL
Cleveland was the second city in the world, after Tokyo, to have low cost rail service from the airport to the city center. Your cost each way from Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport to the Affirmation Conference host hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn, is $2.25.
From the baggage claim area at the Cleveland airport, take the escalator down one level, turn left, and you are at the airport station. Purchase your ticket ($2.25) and board the train. When you arrive at the Public Square/Tower City station exit, go to street level on the Euclid side (where the taxis are). Phone the Hilton Garden Inn at 216-658-6400; they will send a complementary vehicle to pick you up and take you the eight blocks to the hotel.
THINGS TO DO NEAR THE HOTEL
From the Hilton Garden Inn, you are within easy walking distance from the Playhouse Square theater district, a wide variety of restaurants, the Fourth Street entertainment district, shopping, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the campus of Cleveland State University. A short ride on the Rapid will take you to the Auto Aviation Museum, The Cleveland Museum of Art, Severance Hall (home of the Cleveland Orchestra), Case Western Reserve University, University Circle, or Shaker Heights. The hotel is across the street from Progressive Field, the home of the Cleveland Indians.
